Campus updates for Thanksgiving Break 2025
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 10, 2025) — Thanksgiving Break is just around the corner, and while some students and staff will head home, many remain on campus. Here’s an overview of what will be open and available during the break:
- UK Dining: Locations and hours will be updated daily on the UK Dining website.
- UK Libraries: Many libraries will be closed during the break. Find a list of libraries and their hours here.
- UK Transportation Services: Check out UK Transportation Services’ website to stay up-to-date on parking and bus information.
- UK Housing: Designated “break housing” halls will remain open during breaks, but residents must complete this Thanksgiving Break response form to inform UK Campus Housing and Residence Life of their plans to stay. Nonbreak residence halls will close at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, and will reopen at noon Sunday, Nov. 30. Students in need of housing for Thanksgiving or Winter breaks must notify UK Campus Housing at ukhousing@uky.edu.
- UK Campus Recreation: The Johnson Center and Alumni Gym will be closed Nov. 28-29.
- Talkspace: The online messaging therapy service is still available to all students from anywhere at any time.
- Regional airport shuttles: UK Transportation Services offers free regional airport shuttles. Register for a seat here.
After returning from break, the fall semester will be wrapping up quickly. Here are some key dates to keep in mind heading toward the end of the semester:
- Dec. 10: Last day of classes
- Dec. 11-12: Reading Days
- Dec. 15-18: Final exams. Find your final exam schedule here.
- Dec. 19: UK December Commencement and last day of the semester. Find Commencement information here.
- Dec. 20: Nonbreak residence halls will close at noon on Dec. 20 and will reopen at noon Jan. 10.
- Dec. 22: Winter Intersession begins
