Angela S. "Angie" Martin has been named vice president of financial operations and treasurer at the University of Kentucky, effective Aug. 1, pending approval of the UK Board of Trustees.

Martin, currently UK's vice president for planning, budget and policy, will be responsible for university-wide resource planning, treasury operations, endowment investments, cash management, banking services, payroll, accounts payable, long-term and short-term debt, risk management, budgets, coordination and oversight of annual external audits, and the biennial executive branch budget and capital submissions.

“We have taken an opportunity to look at our financial areas and have decided to combine the office of the budget and the treasurer’s office," said Frank A. Butler, UK's executive vice president for finance and administration. "Because of Angie’s wide-range of skills, she was the natural choice to lead this new organization. I am pleased that she has agreed to accept this all-important role at the university.”

In her most recent position, Martin coordinated the development of UK's Top 20 Business Plan, annual operating budgets, six-year capital plans and analysis of the university's administrative policies. She also coordinated institutional reporting of financial and budgetary information to outside agencies such as the Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE) and the Kentucky Legislative Research Commission.

She came to UK after having served as vice president for finance at CPE and as associate vice president for planning and budget and director of internal audit at Morehead State University.

Martin earned her bachelor's degree in business administration with an accounting option at the University of Louisville. She earned her MBA from Xavier University. She is a certified public accountant.
