LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 28, 2026) — Preliminary work for beam placement for the pedestrian bridge that will connect Chandler Hospital Pavilion A and the new Cancer and Advanced Ambulatory Building began earlier this week.

This construction work along the east side of South Limestone in front of Pavilion A necessitated the closure of the sidewalk. The sidewalk is expected to remain closed for up to two weeks, reopening Friday, Nov. 6. However, this work is weather-dependent, so that date could change slightly.

Pedestrians traveling through this area are required to use the north-south sidewalk along the west side of South Limestone adjacent to the Cancer and Advanced Ambulatory Building construction.

Northbound pedestrian paths on the east side of South Limestone end at the entry to Ag North and the Chandler Emergency Department during this period.

Additional South Limestone northbound single lane closures are expected on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 2-3, between 9 a.m and 3 p.m. to facilitate construction activites.
