Call for Session Proposals for the 2017 Women’s Forum Conference

LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 13, 2017) The University of Kentucky Women’s Forum Conference Committee is now accepting proposals for conference sessions for this year's annual conference scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 18, at the Hilary J. Boone Center. The theme for the 2017 conference is "The Future is Female."

The Women’s Forum conference is a free professional development conference open to all faculty and staff at UK. Breakout sessions are 50 minutes in length, and presenters are encouraged to leave five to 10 minutes for questions and answers with attendees. Total attendance for each session varies between 20-60 participants. Lectures, hands-on workshops and panel presentations are welcome. 

Submitting Session Proposals

Proposals are being accepted through Friday, Aug. 11. Submitters will receive notification by Aug. 31, if they have been selected to present at the conference. Only proposals submitted through the link below will be considered. Presentations must not have a commercial message or sales pitch.

Topic suggestions include:

  • career development;
  • diversity and bias;
  • emotional Intelligence;
  • healthy habits;
  • leadership;
  • minimalism;
  • mentorship;
  • motivation;
  • networking;
  • public speaking;
  • self-care;
  • time management; and
  • work-life balance.

Submitted session proposals are carefully reviewed by members of the Conference Committee chaired by Amanda Saha and Chioma Brown. On occasion, the committee may ask submitters to provide additional documentation for further clarification. All submitters will be notified of the conference committee’s decision by Aug. 31.
