Archer Receives Award from National Medical Society

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 28, 2010) − Dr. Sanford Archer, professor of surgery in the Division of Otolaryngology Head-Neck Surgery at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine recently received the Distinguished Service Award at the opening ceremony of the 2010 American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery Annual Meeting in Boston, Mass.
 

The Academy presents Distinguished Service Awards to medical professionals in recognition of extensive meritorious service through the presentation of instructional courses, scientific papers, and participation on a continuing education committee or Academy leadership position.
 

Archer has presented instruction courses and miniseminar on a variety of topics in Ear, Nose and Throat Medicine to an international audience yearly, as well as serving as the Kentucky representative to the Board of Governors. The Distinguished Service Award was given this year to only 23 members of the AAO-HNS membership of over 12,000 physicians.

"I am deeply honored to be recognized by the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery and by my peers for volunteer work in this wonderful organization," Archer said.
