Pharmacy Honor Society Receives National Achievement Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 13, 2011) −  The University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy’s Rho Chi Honor Society recently received the Chapter Achievement Award, an honor bestowed by the national Rho Chi Society.

The award recognizes 'the full scope of chapter activities as documented in the Annual Chapter Report.'  UK’s organization, which is known as the Alpha Xi Chapter, accepted the Chapter Achievement Award at the Rho Chi Annual Awards in Seattle on Sunday, March 27.

"The members of our chapter of Rho Chi are proud and honored that we were selected to receive this year's Chapter Achievement Award," said Megan Welch, third year pharmacy student and president of the Alpha Xi Chapter of Rho Chi.   "The Alpha Xi Chapter has worked hard over the past several years to implement programs within the College of Pharmacy that benefit all students, such as Rho Chi Research Day and the Pharmacy Plus Lecture Series.  We are excited and appreciative to be recognized on a national level for our chapter activities during the 2009-2010 academic year.
