UK Employees Invited to Submit Art to 2019 Arts in HealthCare Art Call

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 00, 2019) – In continued celebration of the many talents of the faculty and staff of University of Kentucky and UK HealthCare, Arts in HealthCare is issuing the 7th annual juried call for art. The purpose of this call is to encourage  employees to think about and experience the healing power of art and understand how art enhances the healing environment.

Participants may submit up to three pieces of two-dimensional art in any medium and drop off to the Arts in HealthCare Office, Chandler Hospital Pavilion H, H 106 by appointment only. Appointments can be made by emailing sarah.timmons@uky.edu. 

The deadline to submit is July 31, 2019. The art should be un-framed and no larger than 20x30 inches. No electronic files will be accepted.

The art, selected by an independent jury, will be framed and exhibited in two employee galleries at Pavilion H and UK Good Samaritan. The call is open to all UK employees

and their immediate family members. After being exhibited in the employee galleries, the art will become part of the UK Arts in HealthCare permanent collection. Each piece will be moved to a clinical location with employee recognition.
