UK Faculty to Present on eLearning Innovation Initiative

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 10, 2017)  The University of Kentucky eLearning Innovation Initiative (eLII) for 2017-18 has reached the final round. Presentations are scheduled for April 12 and 13.

The UK Office of the Provost, Information Technology Services (ITS) and the Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT) launched eLII in 2013. The Faculty Skill Development portion of the initiative provides stipends for faculty to participate in UK-led online learning and/or blended faculty learning communities. 

The Faculty Skills Development objectives are to:

  • Improve student learning outcomes, student success, engagement and retention by leveraging innovative pedagogies and learning technologies.
  • Enhance UK curricular offerings through creative course design and application of learning technologies.
  • Continue commitment and overall support for UK faculty development.
  • Support departments and faculty who wish to expand instructional methods.
  • Implement quality assurance methodology for developing high quality instruction.
  • Develop faculty-driven Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) projects to promote reflective and research-driven teaching and learning practices at the University of Kentucky

The eLII Faculty Skill Development final round grantees will share best practices in learning and teaching, and how they plan to apply new skills and knowledge gained from the program within their teaching practice.

Presentations are scheduled for the following times:

  • 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, Jacobs Science Building, Room 114
  • 4-6 p.m. Thursday, April 13, The 90, Room 202
