‘UK at the Half’: UK alum shines as horse industry leader
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 28, 2026) — The Thoroughbred sports world turns its attention to Lexington this week as Keeneland Racecourse hosts the Breeder’s Cup World Championships Oct. 30-31.
UK alumnus Kenny McPeek, a world-renowned horse trainer, farm owner and bloodstock agent is no stranger to the Breeder’s Cup, along with most other major horse races, including the Kentucky Derby.
With a strong interest in the equine industry, McPeek says he spent a lot of time learning about horses at UK’s Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture Food and Environment, before earning his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the UK Gatton College of Business and Economics.
Listen to McPeek discuss his love of horses, his career and how proud he is to be a graduate of the University of Kentucky on this “UK at the Half” segment, which aired Oct. 24 during the Wildcats’ Southeastern Conference game against Vanderbilt University.
“UK at the Half” airs during halftime of each UK football and basketball game broadcast on radio and is hosted by UK Marketing and Strategic Communication. Click on the play button above to hear the “UK at the Half” segment.
