UK Hosts Tobacco Research Conference

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 16, 2011) – The University of Kentucky is serving as the host institution for the 65th annual meeting of the Tobacco Science Research Conference (TSRC) Sept. 18-21 at the Lexington Convention Center in downtown Lexington.

More than 260 scientists representing 16 different countries are expected to attend the meeting which will cover a wide range of scientific areas, including tobacco genetics and agronomy.  In all, more than 75 technical presentations will be given.

At the Tuesday (Sept. 20) evening banquet, Harold Burton of UK will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the TSRC Policy Committee.  Burton, a distinguished researcher, is being honored for his outstanding contributions to tobacco science.
