Your Idea Could Help Make Campus More Sustainable

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 26, 2019) — Have an idea for a start-up business focused on sustainability? Submit your idea to the University of Kentucky’s inaugural Sustainability Pitch Competition.

The competition, which is a partnership between the Student Sustainability Council and the Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship, will be held on April 13th. Ten teams will be selected to pitch their ideas for a chance to win $1,000 in start-up funding.

Each team must include at least one current graduate or undergraduate student.

Ideas can include, but are not limited to, ideas on how to improve air quality, food safety, energy conservation, water pollution, and waste and deforestation through innovative business solutions.

Applications are due on Tuesday, March 5th, and semi-finalists will be announced on Friday, March 8th.
