Apply to be the 2011 December Commencement Undergraduate Speaker

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 6, 2011) – One undergraduate speaker will have the honor of addressing his or her fellow classmates at the December 2011 Commencement Ceremony, a long-standing tradition at the University of Kentucky. The Commencement Speaker Selection Committee will choose this outstanding senior based on his or her activities, work experience, accomplishments, university contributions and public speaking ability.

To be considered, the applicant must be receiving an undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky at the December Commencement exercises. August 2011 and December 2011 graduates are eligible. The applicant should have contributed to the university through campus and/or community activities and/or through his or her chosen field of study and show evidence of demonstrated public speaking ability.

Applications should include a resume or similar list of accomplishments, no more than a three-page, double-spaced summary of the proposed speech and a complete information sheet. The chosen applicant will deliver his or her speech at the December 2011 Commencement Ceremony on Friday, Dec. 16, 2011.
