Cheap Seats Finale Features "Youth in Revolt"

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 21, 2010) – Get in a “rebel” spirit and don’t rent a movie because this week a Hollywood blockbuster is showing for free! Check out "Youth in Revolt" at Student Activities Board's (SAB) final Cheap Seats of the semester at 8 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, April 21, in the William T. Young Library auditorium.

"Youth in Revolt" is based on the 1993 novel "Youth in Revolt: The Journals of Nick Twisp" by C.D. Payne. Nick (Michael Cera) is an outcast teenager trying to win the affections of a beautiful girl named Sheeni Saunders (Portia Doubleday). Standing in the way of winning her over is her poetry-writing ex-boyfriend, his divorced parents and his mother’s two boyfriends.

When Nick finds out she isn’t interested, he creates an alter-ego, François Dillinger, who resembles Nick, but has blue eyes, a mustache, a deeper voice and a bad boy attitude to help him with his pursuit of Sheeni. When François makes Nick out to be a criminal, chaos ensues.

“Students should come out and enjoy the last big movie of the semester and put in their votes for movies they’d like to see in the fall,” said Brad Elliott, SAB's director of cinema. "This is the last Cheap Seats of the semester and is different because of its South Campus showing at the library on Wednesday night."
