Comedienne Kathy Griffin to Perform at UK

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 15, 2010) - The Student Activities Board (SAB) is proud to announce a stand up performance by comedienne Kathy Griffin at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27 at the Singletary Center for the Arts on UK’s campus.

Griffin is a double Emmy award winner, a New York Times best-selling author, a Grammy nominee and a 2009’s GLAAD Vanguard recipient. Griffin is a multi-faceted performer with a rapid-fire wit and sharp tongue. Known for her stand up comedy specials, her own reality TV show “My Life on the D List” premiered on Bravo in 2005, which shot her to fame as she entertained audiences with her attempts to become more famous. Her comedy focuses on celebrity gossip, GLBT topics and the events of her daily life.

Tickets will be available starting on Wednesday, Dec. 15, and Thursday, Dec. 16, for University of Kentucky students only at the Singletary Center for the Arts ticket office. Student tickets are $20 and a valid UK ID is required for purchase.

Tickets will be available for Kathy Griffin fan club members on Friday, Dec. 17, and for the general public on Saturday, Dec. 18. General public tickets are $50.

The Singletary Center Ticket Office is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Student tickets must be purchased at the Singletary ticket office. General public tickets can be purchased at the ticket office, by phone at (859) 257-4929 or at www.singletarytickets.com.
