Dance The Night Away at the Second Annual Underground Formal
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 28, 2017) — Join University of Kentucky's Student Activities Board (SAB) and Underground Perspective, along with the Martin Luther King Center and the Office of LGBTQ* Resources, for a night of dancing, mingling and fun at the Underground Formal 8 to 11 p.m. Friday, March 3, in the Commonwealth Stadium Woodford Reserve Club.
In its second year, this event is an opportunity for many students from different backgrounds to come together and experience one special night of fun, games and dancing. The brainchild of Underground Perspective’s founders, the Underground Formal will have music from different cultures and allow students to express their culture through dance, fashion and music.
"The Underground Formal is an event where everyone on campus is able to come together and dance the night away, no matter the grade one is in, their race or gender,” said Kennedy Mann, Underground Perspective president. “We are all looking to have a good time and to create lasting memories.”
“Underground Formal is by far my favorite event of the year,” said Nickie Cashdollar, SAB director of Traditions. “You can always enjoy a great excuse to dress up, great food, and an awesome time with friends!”
The entrance to the Woodford Reserve Club is located between Gates 10 and 11 of Commonwealth Stadium. Parking is available at Commonwealth Stadium and shuttles will be provided from Bowman’s Statue and the loop at William T. Young Library. Attendees must present a valid UK student ID upon entry and may be accompanied by one guest over the age of 18 with a government issued ID.
Underground Perspective (UGP) is a new and upcoming organization on campus whose mission is to build a social community with and through diversity. Connect with UGP on Instagram at www.instagram.com/undergroundperspective/.
