Progressive Dinner Remembers Black History

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 24, 2011) —The University of Kentucky Black Student Union and Martin Luther King Jr. Cultural Center urges everyone to “Remember” during Black History Month.

The second annual Progressive Dinner will take place on Thursday, Feb. 24, at 6 p.m. in the Student Center. While enjoying a full course dinner, participants will take a leisurely stroll through history, to remember.

“This experience which allows students to move along an historical timeline in African American entertainment history,” said Amber Bibbs, the chair of UK Black Student Union’s Black History Month Committee.

This event is a part of a month-long calendar of events to celebrate the history and achievements of African Americans.

“Our hope is to inspire and inform about the many contributions of the African American culture in entertainment,” said Bibbs.
