Applications Now Available for University’s Largest Programming Board
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 15, 2015) — The Student Activities Board (SAB) will soon be accepting applications for the 2015-16 executive team, programming directors and promotions directors until Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 5 p.m. Application materials will be on the SAB website beginning Wednesday, Oct. 21.
Applications for the executive team include president, vice president of Internal Affairs and vice president of Promotions. Programming director applications are available for the directors of: Campus Life, Concerts, Cultural Arts, Engaging Issues, Multicultural Affairs, Pop Culture and Traditions. Promotional director applications are available for Public Relations, Media, Information Technology and co-directors of Graphic Design. The director of Market Research application is also available.
With no prior involvement required, SAB is looking for hard-working and passionate students who want to unite the campus and community by bringing exciting events to campus. All positions available provide the opportunity to earn internship credit, such as COM 399 and JAT 399.
SAB gives students an outlet to be involved, which is an important part of any student’s experience and growth at the University of Kentucky. Executive team members and directors receive hands-on, real-world experience from the planning to the execution and promotion of each event. Through this process, members have the chance to develop as individuals, professionals and leaders.
“I would highly recommend any student that wants to be a leader on campus to apply for a position,” said Olivia Senter, president of SAB. “My time on the board has not only given me professional and personal development that I couldn’t have received anywhere else, but has also given me a group of student-leaders in which I have grown very close.”
Applicants are highly encouraged to visit the SAB office before the application deadline. If you have any questions, please email Olivia Senter, SAB president, at president@ukab.org.
SAB brings more than 60 entertaining, educational and enriching programs that are reflective of contemporary issues and trends to the university annually. These programs are designed to enhance the college experience for students, faculty, staff and the greater Lexington community.
