LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 4, 2012) — The Student Activities Board is proud to announce Brantley Gilbert as the headlining Fall Concert artist. The show will be Sunday, Oct. 28, at Memorial Coliseum. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the show starting at 7:30 p.m.

The Georgia country star rose to the top of the charts with his sophomore album "Halfway to Heaven" that included the singles “Country Must Be Country Wide” and “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do.” Gilbert wrote and originally recorded the hit country singles “Dirt Road Anthem” and “My Kinda Party” for Jason Aldean. His unique style and high-energy live shows have built his fan base known as the BG Nation.

“We’ve been itching to announce this show for a while now,” said Derek Operle, Student Activities Board director of concerts. “SAB hasn’t done a country show in five years and we seem to have caught Brantley Gilbert at just the right time. He’s a real up-and-comer.”

Along with Gilbert, the concert will open with Brian Davis, Greg Bates and Uncle Kracker. Student tickets go on sale tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 5, at the Student Involvement Ticket Center (formerly the Student Center Ticket Office), 253 Student Center. Student tickets are $10. Students must have a valid UK student ID to purchase a ticket.
