Classical Concert to Help Students Relieve Stress Before Finals

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 1, 2014) — Dana Starkell will be playing student’s studying worries away at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, in Ovid’s at the William T. Young Library. Hosted by the Student Activities Board Concerts Committee, the Study Sounds Concert will bring together students who are fans of classical music or need to take a minute and relax from the stress of studying for finals.

“I am excited to give students the opportunity to take a break from studying during the most stressful time of the semester,” said Jordan Keeton, SAB director of concerts. “A classical guitarist will bring great, relaxing vibes to the venue that will be beneficial to students’ health.”

Starkell is a classical guitarist who has performed at a wide variety of venues throughout North America. He was recently awarded the GigMasters “Best of 2012-13” and “Top Guitarist 2011.” He has devoted time to encouraging students to pursue their creative abilities and believe in their talents.
