Kentucky's Own and Home Grown

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 20, 2016)  Join the University of Kentucky Student Activities Board today at 3 p.m. in the Creative Arts Living Learning Program Studio in Holmes Hall to celebrate and connect with local talent, free food and artist demonstrations at the Kentucky Artist Appreciation Fair. Stop by and learn how to woodwork, listen to music and more all while interacting with the local artisanal community and supporting local businesses. The first 100 students to complete a circuit through the artists receive free Kentucky for Kentucky merchandise!

Students will have a chance to grab some local snacks and listen to local music while taking a break from class or as they are finishing up their day. The event will introduce students to a different side of Kentucky and what it has to offer.

“The Kentucky Artist Appreciation Fair will be great exposure for local artists to demonstrate their work while fostering support and interest for the art scene within the UK student body,” said Julia Nickle, director of Cultural Arts. “It’s also a great space for students to take an afternoon, relax, become more educated and aware of the local talent around them, and enjoy tasty, locally sourced food with friends.”
