Kick-Off the Year Right With SAB at Campus Ruckus
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 21, 2015) — The Student Activities Board’s annual Campus Ruckus event will take place from 9 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Johnson Center fields. The Campus Life Committee will help incoming first-year students start the school year off right with a fun and welcoming atmosphere where students and members of the community can learn more about student organizations available at the university. This event is a K Week tradition held every year after Big Blue U.
Campus Ruckus includes inflatables, T-shirts, food samples from vendors and booths set up by many student organizations on campus. Students will have the opportunity to sample local food options, receive information about organizations and have an enjoyable night wrapped into one major event.
“Ruckus has always been one of my favorite events,” said Jill Marks, director of campus life. “I just really enjoy watching the new students experience how much fun you can have here at the University of Kentucky!”
SAB brings more than 60 entertaining, educational and enriching programs that are reflective of contemporary issues and trends to the University of Kentucky annually. These programs are designed to enhance the college experience for students, faculty, staff, and the greater Lexington community.
