Sing Your Heart Out at Karaoke Night

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 22, 2012) — Watching episodes of "The Voice" make you want to try out your crooning skills on stage? Then break out your hidden talent at Karaoke Night from 8 to 9:30 p.m. tonight in the Cats Den. This event is free and sponsored by the Student Activities Board.

Karaoke is interactive entertainment that allows students the chance to sing along to their favorite recorded music. And don’t worry about forgetting the words, because the lyrics to the songs are displayed on screen. There are more than 100 songs for students to choose from in almost every musical genre.

Drinks and refreshments will be provided during the night by UK catering.

“I’m excited to see some new people sing at Karaoke Night and of course I’m looking forward to hearing the performances of the returners as well!,” said Derek Operle, director of SAB Pop Culture Committee.

The Student Activities Board brings more than 100 entertaining, educational and enriching programs that are reflective of contemporary issues and trends to the University of Kentucky annually. These programs are designed to enhance the college experience for students, faculty, staff and the greater Lexington community.
