Survey Allows Students to Help Choose SAB’s Fall Events

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 19, 2014) — The Student Activities Board made available the spring 2014 All-Student Survey Monday, Feb. 17, allowing students to voice their event preferences for the fall 2014 semester. Students who complete the All-Student Survey by Wednesday, March 5, will be entered to win prizes including a pair of Aziz Ansari tickets, an iPad, a Nikon COOLPIX L27 or a Beats by Dre Portable Pill speaker.

The All-Student Survey, sponsored by the SAB Market Research Committee and distributed each fall and spring semester in recent years, gives students an opportunity to share their thoughts and opinions regarding event ideas for all of SAB’s committees, including eight programming committees and four promotions committees. The survey guides SAB’s event programming due to the proposal process that all events must go through a semester in advance. Without research like the All-Student Survey results, events cannot be proposed to the board.

“Making sure our students are heard is our primary focus because our events are programmed specifically for the UK community,” said Robbie Graham, SAB director of market research. “All-Student Survey data has led SAB to bring some of our most popular and impactful events to campus, including our first SpeakBlue Distinguished Speaker, Anderson Cooper; comedian Aziz Ansari; and athlete Kyle Maynard.”

Students received the survey via email Monday, Feb. 17. Students can also access the survey via the SAB website and social media. The survey will close Wednesday, March 5. Only full-time students are eligible to win prizes, and winners will be drawn at random.

SAB brings more than 100 entertaining, educational and enriching programs that are reflective of contemporary issues and trends to the University of Kentucky annually. These programs are designed to enhance the college experience for students, faculty, staff, and the greater Lexington community.
