LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 25, 2011) – Two student organizations in the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture will host a fashion show to display their event-planning and fashion-marketing expertise as well as raise money for further educational opportunities in these fields.
The UK Merchandising, Apparel and Textiles Club and the Hospitality Management Association will present “Color Me Spring: An Afterhours Fashion Affair” April 8 at The Barrel House in Lexington. The silent auction will begin at 6 p.m. EDT, with the fashion show featuring spring and summer lines from local retailers beginning at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $25 and include hors d’oeuvres. Proceeds help fund educational trips and projects for the student organizations. These opportunities help students network with industry professionals as they look for jobs and internships in their respective industries. Tickets can be purchased on the fashion show’s Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/event.php?eid=129885510411010 as well as boutiques around Lexington.
