LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 27, 2018) For the fifth consecutive year, Commerce Lexington Inc.’s EMERGE Conference will bring together the next generation of Central Kentucky leaders for a day of networking, engaging keynote speakers, informative breakout sessions, and discovering ways to better connect to and impact their community. An outgrowth of Commerce Lexington’s 2013 Leadership Visit, the 2018 EMERGE Conference presented by Forcht Bank will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at the Lexington Center in the heart of downtown Lexington. EMERGE was recently recognized with a statewide Excellence Award from the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives.

University of Kentucky students and other students can register at a cost of only $65. The cost is $135 for Commerce Lexington members and $160 for non-members.

The conference will feature two dynamic national keynote speakers, both of whom have extensive experience in business. A certified executive leadership coach, Justin Patton will open the day with a high-impact, interactive session that will help attendees become more effective leaders. Patton will challenge leaders to think differently about how their presence impacts trust, credibility and performance within an organization. Then, the luncheon keynote speaker is successful author and FORTUNE 500 executive Jim Coleman, who has a connection to Lexington dating to the late 1800s. His new book, "Cut the Crap and Close the Gap," offers a management approach and a practical guide for success that helps people exceed their desired operating results for their organizations.

EMERGE also contains a variety of breakout sessions covering tracks like community engagement, as well as personal and professional development. Here are a few of topics for EMERGE 2018.

Community Engagement:

  • "Solving Community Hunger Issues";
  • "The Emergence of Shared Economies"; and
  • "Issues Facing YP’s of Color in Lexington."

Personal and Professional Development:
