‘UK at the Half’: December grad looks ahead to Disney
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 23, 2025) — The University of Kentucky celebrated more than 2,000 degree candidates during its December 2025 commencement ceremonies last week, including Brysen Honeycutt, a Lewis Honors College student who earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the Stanley and Karen Pigman College of Engineering.
In this “UK at the Half,” Honeycutt, who served as one of the featured student speakers for the December graduating class, shares reflections on his journey at UK, the experiences that shaped his education and the message he hopes fellow graduates carry forward.
As he looks ahead, Honeycutt will take his UK education to Walt Disney World, where he’ll begin a spring 2026 internship with Walt Disney Imagineering — turning a lifelong passion for themed entertainment into a professional opportunity. Read more about Honeycutt’s UK experience here.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.
