LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 2, 2024) – On Aug. 8, University of Kentucky Career Services, in partnership with UK Athletics, will host the 2024 UK Employer Summit from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Central Bank Field Club at Kroger Field.

The Employer Summit is the annual kickoff event for UK employer partners engaged in recruitment of UK students and alumni for internships, job opportunities and other talent needs. The UK Employer Summit provides employers an opportunity to learn about recruitment programs and events that UK will be hosting in 2024-25, connect with campus career services staff and participate in topical presentations, panel discussions and networking focused on talent engagement through UK.

The theme of this year’s summit is “Preparing the Pipeline: Cultivating a Student-Ready Workforce.” This year’s program will feature staff and faculty from multiple campus units, a presentation from Commerce Lexington, a panel discussion with current UK interns, and presentations focused on ways to excel in the recruitment and coaching of Gen Z students. More than 120 employer representatives from the public, private and nonprofit sectors will be participating in the 2024 UK Employer Summit.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.

In 2022, UK was ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Employers for New Grads” and named a “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity, a testament to our commitment to advance Kentucky and create a community of belonging for everyone. While our mission looks different in many ways than it did in 1865, the vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world remains the same. We are the University for Kentucky.
