Attend UK HR’s Work-Life Parents Resource Fair Sept. 3
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 20, 2025) — University of Kentucky employees who are parents, guardians and caretakers are invited to attend the UK HR Work-Life Parents Resource Fair. This is a time for you to connect with organizations that offer parenting and child care-related resources to help your child excel.
“Throughout a child’s life, they will need a variety of support and opportunities to grow and develop,” said Azetta Beatty, HR Work-Life benefits manager. “We are offering this event to save our employees time by bringing a variety of resources to one event.”
The Parents Resource Fair will take place 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, in Gatton Student Center’s Ballroom C .
The event will give UK employees the opportunity to connect with child-friendly resources for school-age children regarding:
- Academic and mental health support
- After school programs
- Camps (fall, spring, summer, no school)
- Extracurricular activities
- Family support
“The UK Parents Resource Fair is an amazing opportunity to learn about all the options available for your child in and around Lexington,” said UK staff member Chaquenta Neal. “I would highly recommend attending because the amount of invaluable information (and deals) you get is incredible.”
The event will also feature a special “Stop the Bleed” demonstration from Safe Kids Fayette County, a childhood injury prevention program led by Kentucky Children’s Hospital. This demo will show parents helpful techniques to stop bleeding in case of an accident with their child or an adult, Beatty said.
SafeKids will also offer a hands-on car seat safety demonstration to teach parents how to properly install all types of car seats. Employees are also invited to check out details about each resource in the event website listing. Some of the resources are attending the fair in person and others are only listed on the website. Please review the listings carefully before attending the fair.
Anthem will have a representative available to answer questions about Anthem benefits such as health insurance, WINfertility, Critical Care and more.
Although registration is not required, attendees are asked to register for the fair on the website to make check-in quick and easy. Register here: hr.uky.edu/events/2025-09-03/2025-parent-resource-fair
