LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 30, 2017) — Everyone is invited to join the fun on Saturday, April 8, as the University of Kentucky Agricultural Education Society presents a run/walk event known as the Boot, Scoot, and Boogie 5K. Spindletop Hall, located off of Ironworks Pike, is the site for the fundraiser hosted by UK Community and Leadership Development together with UK Ag Education.

All monies from participation will go toward meeting the goal of a $100,000 endowed scholarship fund for ag education students at the UK College of Agriculture, Food and Environment. The family friendly run and run/walk will begin at 9 a.m. There also is a computer chip-timed race for more serious runners. Participants will learn more about the importance of agriculture in Kentucky and the U.S. as they compete on the nearly level course.

Participants in this 5K can expect:

  • awards for overall place finishes, as well as age group places;
  • finisher medals;
  • raffles for participants;
  • a DJ will provide musical entertainment; and
  • a race T-shirt (only guaranteed if registered by April 1)

Packet pickup will take place the morning of the race at Spindletop Hall. The registration fee for this scholarship fundraiser is $30.
