UK Hosts Kentucky Innovations Conference

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 14, 2013) — More than 300 participants, speakers and volunteers are expected on the University of Kentucky campus May 16-17 for the Kentucky Innovations Conference. 

Participants will examine topics related to P-12, adult and postsecondary education through presentations, panel discussions, poster sessions and corporate partner displays. The conference provides opportunities to discuss the scholarship of teaching and learning, latest technologies, best practices and innovative instructional techniques, to better understand major trends and key issues facing Kentucky education.

The conference begins Thursday morning at 10 with keynote speaker Vince Kellen discussing The Future of Teaching and Learning. Kellen is UK's senior vice provost for academic planning, analytics and technologies. The conference speakers are leaders from various Kentucky institutions who will speak on specific track topics including pedagogy, libraries, instructional technology, information technology, e-learning and campus initiatives. 

The conference concludes Friday afternoon with a keynote presentation at 2, featuring Joel Thierstein, Kentucky State University’s provost and vice president for academic affairs.
