UK, Lexington community invited to Curiosity Fair March 30
LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 25, 2026) — The University of Kentucky’s 2026 Curiosity Fair invites students, faculty, staff and the Lexington community to experience the innovative, quirky and fascinating work happening across campus. The fair is 4-6 p.m. Monday, March 30, in the Gatton Student Center Grand Ballroom.
From juggling and meteorites to neuroscience and axolotls, the Curiosity Fair features hands-on “curiosity stations” created by UK students, faculty and staff, along with community organizations and performers. Each station highlights a concept, project or idea designed to spark curiosity — whether connected to a class, research lab, student organization or personal passion. Visitors can explore interactive demonstrations, try something new and discover ideas in unexpected ways.
“The Curiosity Fair brings together such a wide range of people — middle school students from the Lexington community, undergraduate students, graduate researchers and faculty experts — all connecting over the exciting work happening on campus,” said Nicole Keenan, director of the Stuckert Career Center and member of the Curiosity Fair planning committee. “It’s a relaxed, interactive environment that encourages questions, conversation and discovery.”
Past Curiosity Fair stations have included opportunities to hold a human heart, grow mushrooms, try aerial silks, extract DNA from food, explore artistic techniques and engage with scientific and cultural topics in accessible ways.
The Curiosity Fair is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to stop by, explore the stations and celebrate curiosity in action.
