Osher Lifelong Learning Institute to Hold Open House in Morehead on Aug. 28

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 26, 2014) —The University of Kentucky continues to celebrate 50 years of lifelong learning with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute's  (OLLI) Fall Open House to be held Thursday, Aug. 28 from 1 – 2:30 p.m. in the Morehead United Methodist Church. 

 

The open house will include a special presentation on 50 Years of Lifelong Learning at UK, exhibits showcasing programing throughout the years, and previews of upcoming courses and shared interest groups presented by this semester’s instructors.  Attendees will also have opportunities to chat with instructors.  Drawings will be held for door prizes and refreshments will be served. Registration for the fall semester will begin at the event at approximately 2 p.m., and will also be available by mail. Online registration will open Sept. 2. 

The OLLI fall catalog includes the following courses:   Traveling Around the World:  From the Amazon to Felipe IV’s Coronation in Spain; Seven Classics Movie Series; SECRETS!; Answers to Science Questions YOU Want To Ask; and Art:  Learning from Our Mistakes.   Special interest groups include intermediate bridge, non-fiction books of interest, importance and impact, spanish conversation (beginning and intermediate) and creative writing.  Course catalogs will be available at the open house and offerings are available for viewing on our website at www.uky.edu/OLLI .
