Student Fashion Show March 23

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 21, 2012) – A pair of University of Kentucky student organizations are teaming up to host "Color Me Spring - an after hours fashion affair!” Friday, March 23, at the E.S. Good Barn, located on campus near the intersection of Farm Road and University Drive.

The University of Kentucky Merchandising, Apparel & Textiles Club, and the Hospitality Management Association are planning this fashion event as a fundraiser for these student groups.  Proceeds from the evening go to help fund educational trips and projects for UK students in the majors, Hospitality Management and Tourism (HMT) and Merchandising, Apparel & Textiles (MAT) majors, both of which are housed in the School of Human Environmental Sciences, part of the College of Agriculture.  Hors d'oeuvres and a silent auction will begin at 6 p.m.  The fashion show will begin at 7 p.m.  

Clothing being showcased in the fashion show includes selections from Anne Sawyer, Peppermint Palm, Cotton Patch, The Black Market, Bluetique, Bella Rose, Twirl, and others.

Tickets to "Color Me Spring" are $20 each for the general public and $10 each for UK students and can be purchased by emailing Jason Swanson, assistant professor of hospitality management and tourism at jasonrswanson@uky.edu.
