UK HealthCare Offers Multiple Sclerosis Info Session

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 12, 2010) - Are you or a loved one living with multiple sclerosis (MS)? UK HealthCare and the Kentucky Neuroscience Institute invite the general public to an information session for MS patients and caregivers.

The presentation will feature five experts in the field of MS treatment and research. Topics will  include the development and progression of MS, an evaluation of current MS therapies, a discussion of future MS therapy options and the importance of MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) in MS diagnosis.

Experts leading the panel discussion will include: Dr. Joseph Berger, chair, UK College of Medicine Department of Neurology; Julie Gurwell, assistant professor of neurology, UK; Dr. Sidney A. Houff, professor of neurology, UK; Dr. Douglas R. Jeffery, associate professor of neurology, Wake Forest University Bowman Gray School of Medicine; and Dr. Kottil Rammohan, professor of neurology, The Ohio State University.

The MS information session will be held May 22 in the auditorium of the William T. Young Library on the UK campus. Registration and refreshments will begin at 2 p.m., and discussion, with question and answer time, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
