Mad Mushroom shares the love with special dessert benefitting KCH
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 30, 2025) – Three Mad Mushroom locations will offer a special dessert in February as part of a fundraiser for Kentucky Children’s Hospital (KCH).
“Strawberries & Dreams” features a house-made chocolate cream topped with graham crackers, fresh strawberries and finished powdered sugar and a chocolate drizzle. Priced at $9, proceeds will go directly to KCH through the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH).
Steve Hart, co-owner of the three Mad Mushroom locations, two in Lexington and one in Richmond, felt inspired to give back to KCH after his twin grandchildren experienced a prolonged stay in the KCH neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). His daughter spent more than two months in the hospital prior to the twins’ premature birth. Callum was born weighing just four pounds; little Hardin barely weighed two. They spent a month in the NICU under the watchful care of KCH staff, gaining weight and building strength.
“I am a testament to show the great care UK Hospital gave to my grandkids and my daughter for those three months,” said Hart. “I am so blessed to have had UK work for my family and they helped save two lives with their great care and expertise in the field of medicine. Thank you, KCH!”
Funds raised by CMN partners have supported numerous projects at KCH, such as a dedicated pediatric dialysis unit, increased staffing in the UK Developmental Pediatric Clinic, and video-gaming equipment for the pediatric emergency center.
“Strawberries & Dreams” will be available through February, while supplies last. For online orders, use coupon code DREAM25.
