Papa John's Helps Markey "Sack Cancer"

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 31, 2011) — Papa John's Pizza's "Sack Cancer" promotion raised $5,971 for the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center.

The "Sack Cancer" promotion was held during the 2010 UK Football season. During this time, a portion of Papa John's pizza sales were donated directly to the Markey Cancer Center to support and promote early detection of cancer, research and education to save lives.

"We're thrilled to receive this donation from Papa John's," said Trish Jaracz, vice president and director of development for the Markey Cancer Foundation. "The 'Sack Cancer' promotion was a great way to raise awareness for Markey while also helping out the thousands of cancer patients who rely on Markey for care."
