LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 19, 2019) — UK HealthCare’s Polk-Dalton Clinic hosted its fourth annual Back-to-School clinic on Saturday, Aug. 10. At the clinic, several health care providers administered physicals for kids who will be attending pre-school and kindergarten this year. Older children could also get their sports physicals completed at the event.

In addition to the clinic, Polk-Dalton’s staff put together a clothing and school supplies drive for students. At the clinic, parents were able to pick up book bags filled with donations from clinic employees. The staff also took supplies to teachers at William Wells Brown Elementary School.

Community Health Care Worker Karen Garner said she loved giving back. “I like the faces of the children getting the school supplies because this may be the only supplies they get,” Garner said.

After the students received their physicals, they could cool off with a tasty snow cone treat. The team of providers who volunteered for the event was able to complete physicals on 47 children.

UK HealthCare’s Polk-Dalton Clinic provides health care with compassion for Lexington's Northside and urban community. It offers convenient family medical services for the entire family, including infants, school-age children, teens, adults, parents and grandparents.
