LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 4, 2013) - Two performances have been added to the UK Arts in HealthCare's "Tuesdays at Noon" series.

On Tuesday, March 5, Bluegrass and Bones brings their fun and unique blend of Kentucky bluegrass music with traditional and non-traditional instruments to the UK Chandler Hospital.

The group includes UK HealthCare Music Therapists Olivia Yinger and Jessy Rushing on guitar and banjo. Lori Gooding, the director of UK's Music Therapy Program, rounds out the group.

Bluegrass and Bones promises its listeners "familiar tunes and novel arrangements, feathered harmonies and foot-stomping fun."

The group will play in the Pavilion A lobby from noon until 12:45 p.m.

On Tuesday, March 12, The Jarflies will present their bluegrass sounds to listeners from noon until 1:30 p.m. in the Pavilion A lobby.

The duo - Kentuckians Art Mize and Mason Colby, originally from Louisiana - sum up their music on their Web site as simply "Kentucky music."

"Kentucky music is a fire in your belly. Kentucky music is the cacophony of a million sible cicadas pulsing in the summer trees. Kentucky music is the rippling muscles of a hundred thoroughbreds pounding down the stretch. Kentucky music is a cool spot in the shade on a rolling Bluegrass hill. Kentucky music is a fiddle and banjo ringing out from an eastern mountaintop all the way down to the Mississippi. The Jarflies play Kentucky music."
