'UK at the Half': Protecting the heart during cancer treatment

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 17, 2023) — For this "UK at the Half," Amit Arbune, M.D., director of the cardio-oncology program at UK HealthCare, talks about how cancer patients can experience heart problems as a result of their cancer treatment. At UK HealthCare, cardiologists work alongside to develop a treatment plan to destroy cancer while preserving heart function. Throughout cancer treatment and beyond, patients visit the cardio-oncologist to help ensure early detection of any change in heart health.
