Welcome to UKNow

When we made the decision to re-create UK News in a newer, 21st-century manner, we promised to bring our campus community and UK friends around the globe a first-class product. I think we have delivered on that promise with UKNow.

Designed with you – the reader – in mind, UKNow will provide a 360-degree view of our university, featuring the myriad accomplishments of the students, faculty, staff, and alumni who comprise our diverse campus community. Through its integrated multimedia presentation platform, UKNow will tell UK's story not just with words, but with pictures, sound, and streaming video as well. Its scope will include everything from groundbreaking research by our faculty to the strong contributions from our staff to outstanding work by our students.

A newly redesigned events calendar will keep you up-to-date on the many opportunities for entertainment, recreation, and cultural enrichment here at UK. You'll find information on concerts, theatrical performances, art exhibits, movies, guest lectures, sporting events, and more.

Additionally, a personalized user interface will allow you to set and store your preferences, meaning you'll always be able to find the specific types of stories that are important to you, at a glance.

But UKNow will be more than just a guide to what's happening on campus. It also will provide a forum for UK's experts to provide perspective and commentary on the global, national, and regional events and issues of the day - and how these events and issues affect our community. UKNow will also occasionally feature useful tips from these resident experts on a variety of topics of general interest.

We hope you enjoy this new creation and that you will rely on UKNow as a valuable resource for information. And stay tuned as we roll out more exciting features in the months ahead, including a brand-new look for the uky.edu home page. We are excited about this new endeavor, and we are interested in your feedback and your story ideas. We encourage you to send your thoughts to us at uknow@uky.edu.
