UK Family Invited to Enter Designs for Confucius Institute's Snapchat Filter Competition

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 13, 2016) — The University of Kentucky Confucius Institute (UKCI) is now accepting submissions from UK students, faculty or staff for its Snapchat Filter Competition!

The UKCI is looking for graphic design submissions for a new Snapchat filter that students and community members can use when sharing UKCI moments on Snapchat.

Submissions will be reviewed by the UKCI marketing team and a winner will be selected. The winner will receive a UKCI gift basket and his or her design will be used as UKCI’s official Snapchat geo-filter design on campus.

All works of art must comply with the following guidelines:

  • All graphics used must be 100 percent original.
  • No logos or trademarks, other than the University of Kentucky logo. 
  • Design must be relevant to the UK Confucius Institute brand.
  • No photographs.
  • No hashtags. 
  • Graphics should cover less than one-third of the screen.
  • File should be 1080 pixels wide by 1920 pixels high.
  • Files should be a PNG under 300 KB with a transparent background.
  • Be creative and think visually.

Deadline for submissions for the UKCI Snapchat Filter Competition is 11:59 p.m. Monday, April 25.

Each entry must be sent via email with the designer’s name, year (if applicable), major or department, and email address. All submissions and questions should be sent to Lauren Henrickson at lauren.henrickson@uky.edu.

Individuals submitting designs to the UK Confucius Institute are authorizing UKCI and the University of Kentucky to make unlimited, unrestricted use of their design for promotional purposes.
