Access to Areas of Gatton Student Center Limited During Philanthropy Kickoff Sept. 14

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 11, 2018) — Certain areas of the Gatton Student Center will be temporarily closed the evening of Friday, Sept. 14, in support of a special event to celebrate the launch of the University of Kentucky's philanthropy campaign. As part of this event, the Grand Ballroom, pre-function areas, the social staircase and main areas on level 2 and 3 of the Gatton Student Center will be closed 5 p.m. and later.

Visitors and students will not be able to pass through the building due to the private event occupying Level 2 spaces. Along with limited access to the building, no movies will be showing in Worsham Cinema that evening, and the visitor parking lot at the Gatton Student Center will be used for the event.

What will be open? The Cats Den, Champions Kitchen and Alumni Gym Fitness Center will remain open during regular hours that evening. Their Sept. 14 hours are listed below:

  • Cats Den: 6 a.m. to midnight;
  • Champions Kitchen: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.;
  • Chick-fil-A:  7 a.m. to 8 p.m.;
  • Panda Express:  11 a.m. to 10 p.m.;
  • Subway: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and
  • Alumni Gym Fitness Center: 6 a.m. to midnight.

Student organization offices in the Center for Student Involvement will also be open that evening.
