Arrest made in electric scooter theft case on UK campus
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 27, 2026) — UK Police have arrested a suspect in connection with scooter thefts reported in an Aug. 25 crime bulletin.
On Aug. 26, Henry Logan, 37, was arrested by the UK Police Department in Lexington. Logan is suspected of involvement in four reported scooter thefts and three additional thefts that had not been reported to police. The thefts occurred on UK’s campus between Aug. 22 and Aug. 24.
UK Police issued a crime bulletin on Aug. 25 following several reports of stolen electric scooters near Sports Center Drive.
After gathering information through the course of its investigation, UK Police collaborated with the Lexington Police Department to identify the suspect. Logan was later arrested by UK Police in connection with these incidents.
Theft is one of the most common and preventable crimes on campus. Community members should secure electric scooters at designated campus bike racks and use a high-quality U-lock whenever the scooter is not in use.
