Bleed 'Blue' for UK This Week

Lexington, Ky. (Aug. 27, 2012) — The Cats and the Cards will meet on the gridiron this Sunday, Sept. 2, but another Battle of the Bluegrass continues all this week at Kentucky Blood Center (KBC) donor centers and blood drives, including on the University of Kentucky campus.

Donors, who will get a chance to vote for Kentucky or Louisville when they register to give blood, will receive a Battle of the Bluegrass T-shirt and a chance to win the following prizes:

  • A pair of tickets for three University of Kentucky football games
  • A 2012 Toyota Rav4 SUV, which is the grand prize of Kentucky Blood Center’s Summer4Life.

“Good donor turn out for Battle of the Bluegrass will ensure an adequate blood supply heading into the Labor Day weekend,” said Martha Osborne, executive director of Marketing and Recruitment. “All blood donors are needed, especially those with negative blood types.”
