Founders Day Will Celebrate Faculty Achievement

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 19, 2012) ― The University of Kentucky's second annual Founders Day Award Ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, in Worsham Theater of the UK Student Center.  This event celebrates the establishment of the university in 1865 as well as the achievements of UK faculty.  The ceremony will include presentation of the Provost's Awards for teaching and the Sullivan, Kirwan and Sturgill awards.

Faculty who have received other significant awards from UK or outside the university are asked to submit their information for inclusion in the Founders Day Award Ceremony printed program.  To submit information, visit http://www.uky.edu/Provost/Events/submit.html.  The deadline for submission is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15.

UK President Eli Capilouto and Provost Kumble Subbaswamy will make award presentations.  A reception will follow in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Cultural Center in the Student Center.
