Free access to digital newspaper subscriptions available for UK community
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 11, 2026) — As the Fall 2026 semester begins, the University of Kentucky community is reminded they can enjoy free, full access to the digital editions of both the New York Times and Wall Street Journal.
Through partnerships across the university, anyone with an @uky.edu email address — UK students, faculty and staff — can access the digital editions of both newspapers at no cost. UK Libraries administers the subscriptions on behalf of the campus community.
“Providing access to The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times is an investment in our students, faculty and staff and reinforces our university’s commitment to preparing informed leaders, professionals and citizens who will advance our Commonwealth, country and world,” said Doug Way, dean of UK Libraries.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and healthcare. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $1.02 billion research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.
