National Praise for Health and Safety Efforts

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 30, 2020) — University of Kentucky President Eli Capilouto sent the following email message and video above to the campus community Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Dear Campus Community,    Earlier this month, Ambassador Deborah Birx, coordinator for the nation’s coronavirus response, commended our data-driven efforts to keep our community healthy and safe.    As part of her visit, Dr. Birx met with senior leaders and representatives from our START team of clinicians, medical experts and public health specialists. These comprehensive, robust exchanges of ideas are further fueling our efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.   Following her visit, we announced an additional initiative involving random testing among our student population. We also are continuing our efforts with wastewater testing. You can read more about Dr. Birx's visit here.    You can keep up with our efforts to promote health and safety on our campus at www.uky.edu/coronavirus. Eli Capilouto
