Studio Mode Architects Lecture at UK
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 17, 2010) − The start of a new spring semester brings new guest speakers to the University of Kentucky College of Design Lecture Series. Next on the list of presenters are Ronnie Parsons and Gil Akos from Studio Mode, of Brooklyn, N.Y. This lecture, which is free and open to the public, begins at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, in 209 Pence Hall.
Studio Mode offers a wide range of design and consultation services capable of addressing projects of a diverse complexity and scale. The firm has an array of clients that include internationally recognized design offices as well as leading academic institutions.
Ronnie Parsons holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree in architecture and has studied abroad at The Architectural Association, in London; The Institute for Experimental Architecture, in Innsbruck; and the University of Applied Arts, in Vienna. Parsons has taught at Stevens Institute of Technology, as well as the Pratt Institute, and has assisted in design studios at Ohio State University's Knowlton School of Architecture and Princeton University School of Architecture.
Gil Akos holds a master’s degree in advanced architectural design from Columbia University and a master’s degree in architecture from the University of Kansas. Akos has taught at the Product Architecture Lab, at Stevens Institute of Technology and at the Pratt Institute, and he has assisted in design studios at Columbia University and Princeton University.
