LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 15, 2017) —The community is invited as the Fayette County University of Kentucky Alumni Club presents “Three Cheers: Past, Present and Future of UK Cheerleading” on Tuesday, May 16, at the Hilary J. Boone Center, 500 Rose St., Lexington.

Celebrate this program’s amazing success and hear from Head Coach Jomo Thompson, long-time advisor T. Lynn Williamson and other program alumni on what it takes to compete at such a high level year after year. A reception begins at 6 p.m., with the program beginning at 6:30 p.m. No other college cheerleading squad has dominated its sport like Kentucky. The UK squad has won the national championship an unprecedented 22 times, more than any other Division I-A school, and has won back-to-back championships an incredible 12 times. Between 1995 and 2002, the team won eight championships in a row.

Cost to attend is $25 for members and $35 for nonmembers and includes admission to the event and heavy hors d’oeuvres. A cash bar will also be available. Attire is business casual. Proceeds benefit the Fayette County UK Alumni Club Scholarship Fund. Register at www.ukalumni.net/threecheers.
