Wildcats to Visit the White House on Friday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 1, 2012) — On Friday, May 4, President Obama will welcome the University of Kentucky men’s basketball team to the White House to celebrate its 2012 NCAA championship. 

Wildcats' Head Coach John Calipari said that all of the players and staff are very excited about the opportunity.

“The amazing thing is the first thing that was said when the horn sounded in New Orleans was, ‘We’re going to the White House!’  It’s one of those moments for these players that they have probably thought about without us even knowing that it was important to them.  So I’m excited about the opportunity for them to meet the president of the United States, the leader of the Free World and someone who is trying to make a difference in their lives.”
